All Parts replacement parts

Post by brianeharmonjr »

Hey everybody, I was just wondering what was everybody's take on the replacement parts made by All Parts. They have a bridge/tailpiece and pickguard replacements. What are the quality like on these. I know the bridge/tailpiece, for instance is quite a bit cheaper than the hipshot or the authentic rickenbacker one. Anyone have any experience? Are these quality or just cheap knockoffs?

I can spot the AllParts tailpiece from several states away. If I can tell it's a copy, I don't want it on my bass. I haven't seen the pickguard, but if it's ABS instead of acrylic, I'd say the same thing.

I had one on a 73 I sold, and it got the job done.

It had no lift, which some RIC tailpieces from this period have, but the hipshot and newer RIC parts are the way to go.

Pickguards should come from Pickguardian.

Have Hipshot stopped making the Ric replacement yet ? Are they still available ? I wish Ric would make some sort of announcement regarding their own replacement ! How long does it take ? Its being going on for months and months now, I cannot understand it ? It would be nice if we got some sort of indication as to when they are likely to be available. I also hope that they aren't an extortionate price !

We're all still waiting for the RIC replacement. I suppose they will release it when it's ready. But the wait is agonising! AaaaHHHH!!!!

I have a replacement bridge insert that I thought was allparts, its 15 years old (+) and each saddle is individually adjustable for height. I drops right into the factory Ric tailpiece with no modification.

I'll get a pic up later.

I just bought a '73 4001 with what turned out to be a allparts replacement pickguard. It has a very cheap feel compared to my 4003 (with original guard). The holes for the screws doesn't fit 100% either. I will buy a new one in vintage white from pickguardian as soon as possible.
