Pitting on horseshoe pick-up chrome

Post by wwittman »

I'm developing some major pitting in the chrome of the horseshoe pick-up on my 4001 bass guitar. (where my sweaty palm tends to rest)
Anybody have any ideas or products to deal with it before it gets too out of hand?
Or shall I chalk it up to "adds character"?

You can try Flitz metal polish, or maybe Never-Dull. If there's a Harley dealership near you try taking a look in there. They probably have both of these products, as well as many other chrome cleaners and protectants.
