Hurry up and wait!

Post by simer4001 »

I checked with a local dealer today and he advised me that RIC is estimating a 6 to 7 month wait on immediate orders for the "C" series. Any confirmation on this?

I read a post by John Hall (either on Voxtalks or on AGR) where he stated the C series would not be ready to ship until at least 6 months from NAMM. So your dealer is right according to this info. Mr. Hall posted this, if I recall correctly, a couple of days before NAMM when someone found the draft C-series pages on Rickenbacker.com - he was forewarning everyone that there would be a significant waiting period before shipment would be ready.

Come on Guys!
It only took 43 years to make 'em the way the used to. What's 8 months?
Eternity, as far as I'm concerned.Image

That means there will probably be another NAMM show before anyone sees one. Well maybe not, but it is a bit discouraging. It really shouldn't bother me because that is the usual and customary time for delivery on a RIC.

Hey John! What about selling me the 4001C64S you had at NAMM? I'll be your best friend if you do.

Cheers!

Hey guys, one month down, how many to go?
This isn't getting any easier. I see the c58 in my sleep.

Although I have been 'waiting' for this guitar since I first saw John's back in December of 1963 I guess waiting for another couple of months won't kill me. (Although sometimes I know it feels like it might)
This guitar will be well worth the wait, I'm sure, and after doing the mods on a 'V59' this will be MUCH CLOSER to the real thing. So If all I will have to 'gritch' about about is the wait then I guess I'll be HAPPY!
Take a long, slow breath and relax!
