Rampant garage band names

Post by brammy »

... an oldie but goodie thread. A few that I've noticed (or thought up) over the years that I like are:

The Fighting Artichokes
(also the name of a college football team)

Larry and the Lobsters

The Crabs

Connie and the Concubines

and my personal favorite:
The Burning Sensations

I've seen this one on a poster in Halifax (and had to distract the kids from seeing it!):

'Johnny Resistarrest & the Go F%^kyourselves'

I figure they must be a punk band.

In college, I had a band called "This End Up".

Of course, the drum head was put on upside down...

How about '2 Dollar Horse'.

A short lived band local to my area.

A friend of a friend had a band called "668: The Neighbor of the Beast". I got a good laugh out of that one.

I saw a band on the back of a guitar catalog called "20,000 Leagues Under My Nutsack". I think it was an ESP artist roster.

There's a band here in Denver called 'Lying B*tch and The Restraining Orders'...

The Fighting Artichokes are the football team at Scottsdale (Az.) Community College...I have a friend who was a student there when the Administration decided it was time to have a football team, a decision that was quite unpopular with the majority of students who wanted the money spent on academics. When the student body was given the opportunity to choose the team name, they responded overwhelmingly and the Artichokes were born.

Of course, they also had to choose team colors...there wasn't a dry seat in the bleachers the first time the pink-and-white 'chokes took the field.
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

Our Dad band name is Bad Patch. Has to do with one member's continuing condition of crackling cables (hmm, first album name?) rather than any hard times we went through.
