Joining the Ric body
For lack of the right words, the Ric is joined together on the sides of the body and headstock right?
anyone notice the lines of the "wings" on the body and headstock showing through the paint on their Jetglo Rics?

The lines are differences in the thickness of the wood caused by expansion and contraction, and they vary according to temp and humidity. They are especially noticeable on JG guitars and there's nothing whatsoever odd or abnormal about them. You'll also never get rid of 'em.

This 34 year old headstock is a good example of the lines showing the wings and where the paint has slightly cracked, on the back there is a paint crack on the edge of the skunk stripe. All these different woods have dried and shrunk at different rates. Notice how thin the wings are on this bass compared to a modern 4003/4004.

There is a similar bass in Japan if you go to my post "Rick Bass in Japan" that is going for $2700. It's got small inlays like mine but somehow the checkered binding makes up for that.
