Canceled my order

Post by mgrendel2 »

I'm sorry to say I had to cancel my Ric bass order. I was given the impression my bass was to be produced by the end of August. I was told Friday it was going to be another 60 to 90 days. If I remember correctly, this is the four time the date has been changed. This will not do. I was really looking forward to having a new Ric bass, but I can only take so much. Every time I talked to Ric or my dealer, I was given a new shipment date. I have over $1500.00 dollars tied up for over 27 months. I have no hard feeling towards anybody anywhere. I will not post this on the Ric site due to my respect for Mr. Hall and co. I did not have the time left to wait another 3 months since I have recordings to make and also have opening acts to do. I need a professional bass now. Since all my money was tied up in this Ric I had no other choice. I have meet a lot of good people on this site and the Ric site that has given me support over the last two plus years and also put up with my bitching and belly aching.I will continue to check both site since I will always be a Ric fan and I hope to one day own a lefty. I now have a lefty Warrior bass coming UPS from Atlanta and it should be here by first of next week. To all my Ric friends, peace and happiness to you all. Mitch "Grendel" Moore

Well I wanted it to be a new Ric. I own three very used righty Rics as we speak. They all are in really bad shape so playing with them was out of the question. I'll get a new lefty oneday be not at this time. I traded in two basses and money so my hands and my dealers were tied. To kept the dealer from losing his deposit, I helped them out by getting the Warrior from them. I beleive they are letting the Ric come on in to them, but I dont know this for sure. If they do this and I have the money I may get it then. Of course my wife will kill me.

"I will not post this on the Ric site due to my respect for Mr. Hall and co."

Well, Mitchell, they read stuff here, too, in case you were wondering...

Anyway, sorry this had to happen, but Kris is right--there are umpteen hundred used RIC basses out there at very good prices.

...Somebody made you pay full price up front as a deposit? ARK...

Sorry to see that you canceled your order, Mitch. I still say it would have been worth waiting for. Especially after all this time, you were probably somewhat close to getting it. Congrats on your new Warrior bass, hope you enjoy it.

Paul I know this but everyone doesnt know about this site. and yes I had to play everything up front. I do feel a little sore on the backside if you know what I mean. If I posted it on the Ric site, Kenny and John would be very upset at me and I dont need it at this time.

Thanks Joey, I just ran out of time. I could not wait anymore, I think the dealer has not cancel the order with Ric so when it gets there I may still be able to get it. Who knows.

I'm surprised any RIC dealer would quote you a shipment date. Most RIC dealers are quite upfront about the back orders and the waiting period. Sorry you felt the need to cancel. If Kenny and John are going to be upset at you then it doesn't matter where you post the thread. I'm not sure if this will upset them, but to think that words said here would be less upsetting than on the corporate website may be a bit naive.

You should reconsider your canceled order if you can, Mitch. I think you'll be kicking yourself when you see that RIC has shipped left handed 4003 basses.

Oh, Grendel, that's a shame! I was really pulling for you. Hopefully the bass will come into the dealer, and you'll have the means to get it.

Joey, something is not right here. The Dealer in Atlanta(which I cannot name) told me they called RIC and was told 60-90 days. I have no way of knowing if this is the truth or not. Who they talked too, I was not told. This is what is getting to me, I cannot get a straight answer. I trust you and what you are saying to be correct and if my bass is around the corner, like I was lead to believe then I will get it. I will drive my ACE to Atlanta and return that Warrior in a heartbeat. In fact I just called up their and the person I talked to told me that a lefty bass was coming in but he didnt know the details. You bet you booty I will give them a call 1st thing tuesday morning. I feel like I have been reamed across the coals. lol ;-)

You're right! Something is not right. When was the last time anyone at RIC would give a timeframe on an order? Maybe your dealer was just handing you a line.

Sorry to hear that, Mitchell!
Man, it's been a long wait, it's a shame to bail at the last minute, so to speak.
I hope it works out all right.
