Lookin 4 Fender Mustang Bass/Danelectro Longhorn

Post by brianeharmonjr »

Hello, forumites. I've just sold a bass and I'm looking to purchase a good short scale bass. Specifically, I'm looking for a Fender Mustang Bass RI or Danelectro Longhorn. I can only spend up to $450 shipped (less for danelectro). I'd also be interested in regular scale MIA Ps and Js. Let me know if you've got anything available. Thanks.

I see that Music Go Round in Orland Park, IL has a Mustang bass for sale. $399 w/ some kind of case.

Hey, everybody. Just to let you guys know, I received the mustang today (pictured in the link below), and its better than I had hoped. It plays super smooth, though slightly cramped, but I'll get used to it. I thought I might have to change the pickup, but I love it. It's not as bright as a P-bass pickup, with quite a bit of mid-range, and I love it. Well, thanks again for the tips, especially you Gray. I've been wanting one of these ever since I got rid of my longhorn and it couldn't be better.

Congrats! My wife had one of those, but we eventually sold it. I put Labella medium scale roundwounds on it and it sounded sweet! I agree with you, the pickup was much better than I expected. Enjoy!
