4004 LK

Post by heptagram »

What are the chances of me ever finding one of these RICs?? I take it I'm going to pay a arm, leg and kidney if I do? Only thing I don't like is the machine heads on this bass, would Vintage RIC BASS Machine Heads fit this RIC?

There was one on Ebay for $8,500.00 BIN.

I do not think that it sold. It did not have the Certificate with it, but it was in mint condition. If you were seriously thinking about spending that kind of money, I can put you in touch with another forum member who knows the seller and he can see if it is still available.

It is not a bad price considering that I have seen them sell for $11,000.00

If you preordered from a reputable retailer......$1800.

I don't know if the vintage machine heads would fit. I don't have a set handy to compare. Would you get them gold plated or swap all the factory hardware to chrome?

$10K seems to be the going asking price for one with a certificate. Some have gone for considerably less.....it just depends on the seller.

I would swap all the hardware to chrome as the gold is the only part of the bass I don't like. I would probably put black pots/knobs on it as well. I really want one, but can't afford $10K... could of last year when I sold my house, but not now.... Bump up from $1800 to $10K is crazy... Hopefully some day I'll get one :)

Mmmm #26. I thought I paid a lot for it, but the longer I have it, the cheaper that seems to get !
