SoCal 2007 2 DVD Set

Post by ben_brown »

Well I've finally finished this. Sorry it took so long and I know a couple of forumites have asked for a copy but I'm a bit anal when it comes to creating something like this. Everything had to be just right. The menus, background sounds and music had to be just right. The sound on some of the Malone's footage left a little bit to be desired as my microphone on my camcorder doesn't have an input volume. Consequently some of the louder sounds such as some kick drum and bass notes have a slight amount of distortion. I had no control over this but next time I shall be prepared. There are two DVDs to the set. The DVDs are in a nice double case with artwork. So anyone that wants a copy of this two DVD set please send me your mailing address via my email listed on the forum. I am not looking to make a profit on this but any donations to cover the cost of the DVD discs, cases, case insert paper, ink and of course shipping will be greatly appreciated. There is footage on these DVDs that was not posted onto Youtube. Thanks and I'll see you hopefuly at the next confluence! :D

You should have been a studio engineer, Steve! I promised Tammy that I would send you a stack of 100 burnable DVD blanks, as a contribution to The Cause :D

Yeah, I mention a new Rick, and Irene rolls her eyes and asks if I really need another. Tammy gets excited and starts making more room for it! :D

It has never failed yet! Tell Irene how much Ricks are appreciating in the marketplace today, and point out that it is a much higher return on investment, and much safer, than any form of CD, IRA (even counting tax penalty in case of C. Interruptus), or stock gamble/mutual fund that you could ever put that money into for the short OR long term. Thus, those Ricks are her nest egg for both your "Old Age"s and your form of an insurance policy for her in case you kick off unexpectedly.

If she is a Wise Woman, she will come around and encourage you to buy as many as you can get your hands on, from now on...

(BTW, of course you never have to sell any of them, and you get to play LOTS of your own Ricks all the time...) 8)

John, you'll just have to bring Irene to a confluence. Even better if it's one that Tammy and Diane are at!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Truth, Joey! I believe that will probably be Oz 2010. Unless we have one around Chicago and she'll go.

I'm not implying she is unsupportive; just the opposite, but she is just not that interested in the details. She never knows the words to songs; she just listens to the beat and music. I don't understand that - I hear lyrics first.

That sounds like me John! I can never remember the name of a song or the lyrics for that matter. I just get down with the big sound! :D

Wow! Nice to hear good things. If I had my way we would have more... they are absolutely works of art (and there are a few out there that I would love to have hanging around the house)! I am very envious of all of you guy's talent.. I have trouble playing the radio and couldn't carry a tune in a bucket
The best times I have had have been at confluences everyone is so wonderful. I have tons to learn and re-learn... (the caps bypass still eludes my realm of knowledge) but I am trying. I was not happy to be going to NJ because I thought I was going to be bored to death... and I admit it for once in my life I was very WRONG... and am I ever glad. And as afraid of flying as I was.. if I had to hop on a plane tonight to head out to another confluence... my bags would already be packed.
I made Steve make a chart of the colors and years we have... just incase I have extra money laying around and a great opportunity happens along. I definetly need to get a better paying job.
Advice to all .. take your spouse to a Confluence...(and don't leave her asleep in the room when a big game of bottles is planned!)

Nice post, Tammy.

The cap bypass - with the capacitor between the bridge pickup and the volume for that pickup, that pickup sounds a lot more trebly, less boomy. With the capacitor replaced with just a wire, meaning the pickup is connected directly to the volume pot, there is a lot more low boomy sound to the pickup. Clearer?

As to your Bottles! experience, SoCal 2007 was soooo tame in comparison to the one at the 75th!

Much clearer thanks John. Steve has explained it many times, but maybe I had to read it.. I am definetely not an auditory learner. Although he has offered to let me hear the difference which may help. As for bottles not to mention the 75th... wish I had been there. 2007 did have Denny and your aneurysm!

And it had you, Tammy!! Unfortunately the HI didn't lend itself well to a round or two of 'Bottles!' Neither did 'Denny's place'.

When you guys come over in 2010 'Bottles!' will be a more than memorable experience! :D
