4003 Amber Fireglo

Post by scottpro1969 »

Well, I decided to put the C64S on hold. I just secured a new 4003 AF from North Coast Music. He just got one in on Friday and I was lucky enough to email him before he even updated his website....very lucky, and at a great price $1439!!! Can't wait to be back in the Rick family!!! Somebody hit me with some good AF photos!!!! Of course I'll post pics when mine arrives.

It's crazy the differences in pricing for these. Rhoads music had one and wanted $2000, Mike Parks wanted $1899. I feel like I got a steal on this one.

I don't have an AFG Rick but how about the real thing AFG was modeled after?

Congratulations Scott!

I have a AFG 4003FL, the color is stunning.

I'm curious, did your bass come with the Walnut ears?

Apparently, there was a batch that came out of the factory without them, including a MG I've heard of.

My FL came without the ears but I love the color.

The real "ambered" fireglo of the early '70ies has such a beautiful flame (lowest pic)...it was not yet met by any remake. But I'm hoping for Paul W. artwork early next year!
The one AFG in th middle also has a smooth transition but usually it is very crude like in the pic of the upper one.

Congrats Scott. I hope you like it.

Your C64S is still alive and well, BTW. I'll tell it you said "hi!"

 What roller-coaster-breakman was in the spray booth 1999???
That is no fireglo, rather a fireedge! ...and I always thought that I could distinguish from the cheap Fakengloers???

I think these 4003AFG's would look perfect with vintage TRC's, pickguards and knobs.
