I finally have the ultimate 360/12. Early '90's, JetGlo with some nicks and scrapes but it sounds and feels awesome. (I know some of you think this is an ugly one, but not me).
Here is the problem... The blend knob (yes I use it) seems to have very little function. I've got a BurgandyGlo 12/VP that I bought from Kuney and the blend knob works great. Works great on my '90 360/6 VP too... Point is, I know what I should be hearing (if it is working correctly) and I'm not hearing it. I typically play with both pick-ups on, then roll off the blend so that it is thicker than only the bridge but not much thicker... Then, I roll on the blend depending on the song. Tried bypassing that by using the neck volume but not much luck.
When I got the guitar I had my guitar tech swap out the Hi-Gains for the Toasters... Could he have goofed that and installed them incorrectly? (I have no idea what the wiring diagram looks like). Or, is it possible that the blender "pot" is worn or dirty and needs replacing? I am getting no crackling or noise, it just doesn't seem to blend. Actually, I am getting very little blend. Compared to the BurgandyGlo, my pick-ups are set kinda high (they extend past the level of the fretboard)... Is this the problem?
Help!!!
I know this board is long on gushing about Ricks, but good grief this thing is the news. I'd be interested in hearing how folks have theirs set up and what they are playing through. I'm playing through a MesaBoogie Heartbreaker 2 X 12 Combo, with a little clip, a lot of reverb, scooped mids and no effects. It really sounds nice. Email me off line with your set-ups and let's compare.
Otherwise, thanks in advance for any help to my blend problem.

PS Did anyone see the recent ebay listing of the "... very rare" modern 360/6 JetGlo with hi-gains? I had to snicker a bit.

Same blend control. Here's a wiring diagram (courtesy of the RIC corporate website) for the 360/12 - Check to be sure everything is wired per the schematic:

Try turning the tone nob on your neck pickup very low, then when you blend you are blending a larger tone range.
