Just plain ignorant....

Post by mikeylc »

This shouldn't last long....

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rickenbacker-style- ... dZViewItem

Here's the text for those who will miss it...

"For sale is a NEW replacement truss rod plate/cover for your Rickenbacker or Ric project. This is NOT an authentic Rickenbacker plate, BUT looks just like the ones found on many different models, such as the 330, 360, 4001, or 4003. It has the raised "Rickenbacker" letters. This is a perfect item if you want to make your incomplete Ric look authentic again, or if you have a Ric copy which is in need of a real looking truss plate. Because of the different guitar and bass models which use this type of truss plate, I cannot guarantee that the plate and screw holes will align perfectly, but there is a good chance that they will. This auction is for the truss plate only. No screws are included, nor is the Rickenbacker pictured. Please let me know if you have any questions, and good luck!"

Somebody went to a lot of trouble to forge Rickenbacker TRC's.

Oh well! I guess now he'll have to figure out a way to make an honest living!

I wonder if this seller has permission to make these patches?

My wife had a small embroidery business and we know that unless these copyrighted logo's are licensed, it is a BIG No-No!

It's amazing how people can steal and think nothing of it.

The TRCs are gone. Canadian auctions like the patch one take a bit longer to shut down...

The patch auction has been removed, also.
