Rick in Macy's parade

Post by bassduke49 »

I'm usually on the road T-day morning, but this year we traveled on Wednesday. Watching the parade on TV, here comes a float with Lifehouse lipsynching (and obviously not plugged in). Bass player was hacking away on a Fireglo Rick 4003. Nice advert for RIC. Lord knows they need the business.

If you missed seeing Lifehouse during the parade, here's the video. I don't think that's their original bassist.

Playing bass with winter gloves on. That must be his unique sound!

I noticed that also, Rikk. He and they weren't the only players with gloves. Can you say Milli Vanilli?!

It's kind of odd that there were so many gloves there. The temperature was in the fifties.

From my own experience as a kid having band practice in cold garages during winter, When the temperature is under 60 degrees, the strings will take much of the warmth from your fingertips and can make them numb.

If I was him, I would have pulled a Jack Bruce. Slapped on a six string and showed everyone how stupid the idea of a real performance was. Course their record company probably made them do it. :?
