Lil criticism/question

Post by nattiep »

Is it just me or can anyone get their own lil forum on here nowadays? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I just noticed the Blues one (yeah, I'm slow). I even made a joke about it two years ago in Sérgio's section.
Lucky.. can I get my own topic section?
Just kidding!
I'm just trying to think, how many were added in the last year or so?

Certain people are knowledgable in certain areas that the admins feel would make pertinent sections of this site.

There were a lot of Blues discussions going on, usually with Charly at the center of things, so Peter most likely approached Charly and we got the blues forum.

Ditto with Elys and Chris Squire, or, J-dog and I with the music theory and musicianship forum.

What's the problem?

I want punk section!!!!!!!!
Seriously, though, i see no problem about that. The more the better, and one can simply choose the one(s) they like & ignore others.

Haha! Sheena, I think if there were more punk discussions going on, you'd have had your "Sheena is a Punk Rocker" section long ago! :D

Every thread would degenerate into a "That's not punk, this is punk" or "Iggy did it better" argument.

Punk? Wasn't Iggy Pop?

And wasn't he a founding member of the Stooges? :P

Umm, why me?!?! Did i say i wanted a section of my own? I simply am dreaming about a section dedicated to punk and 60s garage rock, and i don't really care who would lead it (but "Sheena's garage" would sound cool, i must admit  — well, insert any other name and it would still sound cool).
Every thread would degenerate into a "That's not punk, this is punk" or "Iggy did it better" argument.
Naah, i don't think so. What i was imagining in my head was a place where punk could be discussed in a civilized way. Like, "Dear colleague, i think you're not correct while calling Johnny Rotten an orifice in a body part which is below the back. I'd rather say, he's been such a generous person and took a really good care of his mother". Or something like that.

Excellent point, Nate. Check out the "where are thecomments" thread in the Others. I posted some thoughts there on a similar query. Nutshell: I'm too busy to read all topics everyday, so I have had to narrow my scope.

John, frankly i doubt it will ever happen. I doubt it even more than i doubt that one day, i won't be the only posting member from Russia here.
On the other hand, metal section is more likely to happen one day, imho, cause there must be quite a few metal fans here. So my vote goes for metal section, too.

Punk - oh yeah.... that would be cool.

A little limited, but cool nonetheless!

Oh goody! Now there might be some place to swap recipes for changing lead into gold. That kind of metal, right? (...but what's that got to do with Rickenbacker?)

he says trying to do his best imitation of Emily Littela

Well thanks for clearing some of it up guys. The lil sections make more sense when comparing it to the overwhelming number of threads on here already, and if you miss two days or so you're beat.
