The new arrival - '73 4001 FG

Post by brycycle »

thanks to Tony's assistance in getting it across the border, my latest bass arrived last night.

cleaning-up an old Ric is a great way to diffuse from a hectic week, with the help of Charlie Parker...

'73 4001 FG, all original save for the toggle switch (if anyone has a spare, please get in touch!) - oh and the tuners. will have to dowel/re-drill to get a set of Grovers back on. if i can get the ferrels off w/o damaging the finish (the previous owner appears to have glued them in).

a few pics of it's current state:

Looks like a nice one that's only gonna get nicer, Bryce!

Would it be a January '73?

Nice pick up Bryce! Are the inlays the old-school sparkly ones or are they the milkier transitional style?

Bryce,

It was a pleasure lending a hand with this one!

Needless to say, the neck is KILLER on this bass, and the sound...............IT BOOMS! What a great little bass.

You did well on this one Bryce!

Congratulations, keep the pictures coming!

ENJOY!
