Eight Miles High 'Alternate' Video

I was up late last night and saw a CD set pitched by Peter Fonda(!), "Psychedelic Songs"? or something to that effect. There was a 10 or 15 second clip of The Byrds doing "Eight Miles High", but this is a totally different video than the one you usually see (the one that starts with a Galaxy Photo in black & white - really dark).
You see Hillman and then Crosby only in this excerpt. It's also black and white, but has a terrific picture quality. It may have been made a little later than the other.
Anybody ever seen this entire video, I'd love to see it whole thing - It looks like a good one. I couldn't find anything on "You-tube"...

You notice also that none of the guitars are plugged in? And could the drummer be more bored?

They're miming, yet at the very beginning of the song, before coming in, McGuinn flicks his tone selector switch down to the clean bypass position!

Having said that, this is the best overall instructional video on EMH that we're ever likely to see.

On the Tonight Show of 24th July 1967, an appearance that must have been live, David's ES-335TDN has a Bigsby vibrato.

However, on this superb American Bandstand video, whose date is widely quoted as 29th July 1967, David's ES-335TDN is a very clean-looking guitar with no do-it-yourself extra holes in the vicinity of its standard-looking, factory-fitted trapeze tailpiece.

If the American Bandstand performance was recorded much earlier than its transmission date, there was most likely only one ES-335TDN, but if the 29th July was the recording date, there were most likely two of them.

Now we know what "Water brothers, maybe others" was all about!

Hopefully, next month's new book "So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star - The Byrds Day By Day 1965-1973", by Christopher Hjort and Joe McDonald, will reveal all.

Recently saw a '60's music pregram on PBS as part of their pledge drive, McGuinn played his Rick, strumming and using his finger picks. A quick close up revealed some fancy picking fingerwork!
