They put a box ina box for me!

Post by octagon »

I got my 330JG from Music 123 today. It was well packaged with the sealed Rickenbacker box inside a Music 123 box.I know I should observe the "24 hour" defrost rule(Minnesota Winter),,but do you think I can at least take the box out of the box to help it thaw?

You should be okay doing that as long as you know that there is another box inside!

Mitch,

I agree with Jeff's advice. The only question you need to ask yourself is whether seeing the factory RIC box will be more temptation than you can bear

BTW, what part of Minneapolis are you in? I grew up in White Bear Lake....darn Vikings!

Nice place to grow up!That's about 25 miles North West of where I live in Crystal.Actually,I grew up in Bridgeport,CT but I have been living in the Twin Cities area for 15 years. It's a great place if you can stand the cold.I am begining to believe Global warming IS a myth, this winter has been the coldest since I got here in 1992.

Mitch,

I know about the cold. I was in Bemidji a couple of years ago visiting family and the high over those 3 days was -14 degrees F. Be sure to let us know how the grand opening goes....

Really? What company makes stereo speakers in White Bear Lake?By the way I opened the outer box and took out the Rickenbacker box inside and it says "Do Not Open for At Least 48 Hours".

Well, if that's what the box says, that's what I would do. I know it's hard to wait another day, but if it prevents your finish from cracking (and there are plenty of stories about that on this forum) it's well worth the wait. Based on how cold its been in MSP, your guitar would be a good candidate for such a catastrophe...I'd wait if I were you.

I have no idea what company would make the speakers, That little suburb of St. Paul has changed a lot since I left for college. It used to be famous as a summer hang out for Ma Barker and her boys back in the roaring '20s. I'd be curious to know what company made Jeffery's speakers.

It's my Ric in a box

As hard as it may be, I would wait. :(

Then again I've broken that rule EVERY time I've had a new Ric arrive. 'Course it was always in spring or summer.
