My band that has just split after about 6 or 7 years spent the first year or so doing just this. One needs a change of underware mid set, but after a while it is very liberating.

I've actually been thinking about something similar for a while, for that very reason (the liberating part, not the underwear change!).....

I can't imagine paying $40,000 for a guitar ... for that kind of money I can get 2 new cars and have some change left over

I recently auditioned for a band that opereated that way ... I spent the whole evening trying to get them to play a song ...

I couldn't imagine that would be very interesting for the audience unless the band was made up of monster players.
