This was just too good to pass up. Words don't do it justice. A Beatles tribute band in B/W Video "Ed Sullivan" mode singing the lyrics to Zep's "Stairway" put to the music of a medley of early Beatles tunes.

That is fantastically hilarious! They have the early Beatles down pat. With as many times as STH has been played in the last 36 years, think hourly, I would have a very hard time sticking with the Beatles tune when singing. Very well done parody.

I am going to suggest that song to a band I am in to do!

This was one of a series of versions of STH that were commissioned by Australian TV host Andrew Denton for a single series of shows done in the early '90s entitled "The Money or the Gun". Other takes included a Doors tribute version, a B52s tribute version, an Elvis tribute version, a reggae version, a big-band version, a poetry recital and the infamous Rolf Harris version (complete with wobble board) that made the top 10 in the UK amidst a huge amount of controversy - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy5KjaAS7nY for an incomplete video. You will never be able to listen to STH with a straight face after seeing/hearing Rolf's version.
The Beatnix started out as a tribute band in 1980 and they are still going strong. Ironically that means their longevity is more than double that of the Beatles.

Ironically or maybe not every song ever written is better when a wobble board and a didgerido are added.

I saw this a while back and it's just as funny as it was then. It's actually a very good rendition IMO.
