Which RIC guitars have a single truss rod?

Post by blueflamerick »

I'm assuming at least some of the short-scale models do, otherwise there wouldn't be part # 01000.

Does anyone know for sure which models have a single truss rod? Thanks.

The earlier Rics (pre-80's) all have single truss rods, to my knowledge. The only ones of the more recent Rics would have to be the models 325V59, 325V63, 325C58, 325C64 and 1996. I'm not sure if the 350V63, the 325/12V63 or the 1997 have them, but any more info could help.

Believe the double truss rod system was introduced in the late '50's.

J Dub..... is that so? That surprises me.
I always assumed single rods were confined to short scale models such as 325 etc and maybe some very early 57/58 production.

I just checked again. Yep, 1 rod. JH told me once that they made a few like this early on. The funny thing is that I've always thought this was a'93 model. I just checked the serial number and its actually a May of '94 guitar, lol.

My AFG 1996 has dual truss rods...I'm assuming my c64 does as well (since they're essentially the same guitars), though I haven't had the TRC off of it.
