5 string bridges

For those of you who have been asking about the 5 string bridges and saddles that I get from my machinist.

I have been waiting since June of 2007 for him to make parts for me. I got tired of waiting so I am in the process of hiring a new machinist who lives near me in Colorado.

I just met with my new machinist today ... He is going to get started this weekend. He is a bass player and used to own a Ric bass.

This time I am going to do it a little different. I am going to take Ric 4 string saddles and cut them down and have my machinist make the bridge only.

I wnat 10 or 15 of these and I know several of you want these bridges as well.

I have 2 guys who have been waiting months for these bridges so they can have me make their 4003 basses a 4-2-5 ... I guess I have a backlog ...

wow it seem 'backlog' is inevitable where Rickenbackers are involved...

Will you have saddles available?

I will get Ric saddles from the Ric web site and I will cut/grind them as I need them ...

I assume that others can do the same ...

What tool do you use to cut them?

I may use a dremmel tool ... but a grinding wheel or belt sander would also work ...
