A Beatle’s Haunt, Cafe La Fortuna, to Close Its Doors

It's a sad day for those of us on the Upper West Side:

Yea, that's really sad. I feel fortunate enough to have been able to visit La Fortuna and have nice memories and pictures of the place. I recall I was almost the only customer in there at the time and can imagine they weren't pulling in a lot of money.

Wonder if the signed John & Yoko photos that were hanging on the walls will be sold off or kept in the family?

Funny. You can go to Paris and eat in cafes where poets who died 300 years ago ate. Yet here, where one of the most famous singers in history was hanging out a mere three decades ago isn't preserved. America's nuts.
