serial number help please.

where is the serial number written on Rickenbacker basses? i've looked all over mine and can't find it. maybe i'm blind? hmmmmm?

Note that the upper numbers (or letters) refer to the year (or year and month), with sometimes more date info in the lower set of numbers. The problem understanding them is that RIC changed dating/numbering systems several times over the years. For a good overview of the serial number/date system, check here:

Yes, that one, too. The RIC code finder helps if you want to know the manufacturing date of an instrument when you know its serial number. The Rick Page site is better for an overall look at how the various numbering systems work.
