Brian comes to my local pub a couple times a year, so it is a real treat when I can sit right in front of him and watch him play like there's no tomorrow. His daughter Savannah and son Karma have been playing and touring with Brian for a few years now; as much as Savannah is a good singer, she will never match Julie Driscoll-Tippets superb singing. They have had a run of bassists over the years, the one in the first vid left for a while but is back with them again. If you get the chance, go see The Oblivion Express, they do get to Europe quite often.

This was taken at a party for a guy I know who has a jazz/fusion radio show on WCSB. Brian and gang were part of the festivities.

The first time I saw TOE was in '73 at the old Smiling Dog Saloon in Cleveland. This was when Brian finally broke out big with the Closer To It album which this song is on.

I saw Brian Auger and The Oblivion Express way back, at the Whiskey. I Played the Album ( & 8 track) "Second Wind" to death.
Jeff Beck Ripped off a song from that and turned it into "Situation" from one of his solo Albums, IIRC.

So happy to be reminded of this great music, thanks for this thread.

Brian Auger is one of my bosses old running buddies. Every year Catfish (Hodge) would assemble Brian, Nighthawks drummer Pete Ragusa, guitarist Tom Principato and local bass monster to the nth degree Steve Wolf for a tour each January. They called the band The January All-Stars and would work the entire month together. Brian bowed out about 2 years ago due to health reasons and the opportunity to work with his kids. They'll be in DC in March if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for the clips, Jeff!
