I got my great CL deal!!

Post by jazzstick »

Alright I got my $700 Craigs List bass. Maybe someone can help me with the history. It is a Dec 1987 4003 (I assume that there are no 1987 4001's)
awesome condition. So how does this bass differ from 70's rics does it have the cap? if not can I add one? I've yet to play through my rig so I don't know if I want the sound altered, it sounded great through his rig.

well let me know about the cap and such

thanks

Congrats!

If it's an '87, it's most likely a 4003. It could be a 4001v63 but I doubt it.

It does not have the cap. It can be added, but play the bass through your rig first - there is a good reason why most people bypass 'em.

You could.... install a push/pull pot/cap, like the current model 4003's come with, and have both.
