Hi y'all,
My name is Jamie, and I'm located an hour out of Charlotte NC.
The wealth of information on this board is astounding.
I'm embarrassed to say I've never owned a Ric, but I am looking to rectify that situation soon.
My question is how big are the necks on the recent models: 1990s-up?
I.E. Neck width at the nut, and the profile/thickness.
For a point of comparison, I have a Strat with a MIJ neck: 1 5/8 width, 1" thick-nut to heel.
Also a Heritage 150, LP-style, that has a 50s sized neck, that is comfortable.
BTW, are there any Ric owners here that are close to Charlotte, and wouldn't mind me taking a look at your Ric?
Thanks,
Jamie

Hi jamie and welcome to the forum. What model of Ric are you interested in buying. Also cant you go to your local guitar shop to try out what the neck feels like.If all else fails im in Scotland just over the pond
Re: NC Newbie - Neck Question
Easiest thing to do Jamie, is to go to the model comparison page of the Rickenbacker Corporate web site. I tried creating a simple table here and it didn't work the way I thought it should.

Thanks for the welcome.
'Preciate the link to the homepage with the neck widths.
The neck profile is what concerns me. Not keen on slim necks.
Unfortunately, the only big dealer in the State is "down east" in Raleigh, approx a 3 hour drive.
May need to take the road trip to check 'em out.
Like the 330 style, and the 600 series looks good also.
While I would like a 12, I would like to start with the 6 string.
Think the Autumn Glow looks great, but that's somewhat of a rare finish.
Maybe the Amber Fire Glow is more readily available.
Thanks again.

Re: NC Newbie - Neck Question
Jamie i think a 330/6 would do the trick this guitar is versatile and ticks all the boxes. Also beware this forum is highly addictive and so are Rics and dont worry about the neck width you'll find it very nice indeed.
P>S I guarantee that youll like slim necks when you play it

Re: NC Newbie - Neck Question
The 650 does not have a slim neck at all.
