Live footage of Frank Allen’s old group

Post by hamilton_square »

Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers

Only been up on YouTube for the past 6 weeks. Three live numbers taken from the under-bill of a Beatles concert on 24 June, 1966 at the Circus Krone-Bau, Munich.

Clip 1 – ‘Ain’t Love Good, Ain’t Love Proud’ followed by ‘No, You Can’t Love ‘Em All’

Clip 2 – ‘C C Rider’

Note # having previously been set up on stage, forced to use the Rattles drum-kit for their set.

Roy can probably tell those interested more about Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers than I can. By the way, for those that don’t already know, when Tony Jackson split from the Searchers, his replacement, Frank Allen was headhunted from the Rebel Rousers.

I wonder if there's any video documentary of the Rousers from the times Frank was still with them. That'd be fun to watch, i think.
