For You Lucky New Yorker's that side of the pond - I wish I could be there!
New York, NY (March 25, 2008)-The Recording Academy's New York chapter, in partnership with the Producers and Engineers Wing and JBL Professional, will present "Here, There and Everywhere: A Conversation with Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick." The event will be held April 10 at Legacy Recording Studios, 509 W. 38th St. in New York City. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the program and Q&A from 7 to 9 p.m. A reception and book signing will follow, until 10:30 p.m.
Howard Massey, music journalist and co-author of Emerick's autobiography Here There and Everywhere: My Life Recording the Music of the Beatles, will moderate the discussion with the four-time Grammy-winning Emerick, also known for recordings by America, Badfinger, Jeff Beck, Cheap Trick, Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney, Split Enz and Ultravox.
Emerick and the Recording Academy members will explore behind the scenes into Emerick's creative and technical processes on landmark recordings such as the Beatles' Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour and Abbey Road.
Admission for Recording Academy members is $25, $50 for non-members. Advance purchase is recommended. Attendees are asked to RSVP by April 8 by calling (212) 245-5440.

I read his book, and highly recommend it. In addition to recording related things, it gives one a good insight into the personalities of the various Beatles.
