The Stranglers
The Stranglers
Hi guys its the mad Scotsman again i was just trawling through YT and stumbled across a band that reminded me of the early 80s era in my life The Stranglers. Many things to say about such a memorable band gr8 tunes and image. From their early beginings as the Guildford Stranglers they rose to dizzy heights to one of the UKs best loved bands. After Depeche Mode, by 1990, the Stranglers had had more UK chart hits (28) than any other artist never to reach the number one spot.So why did we love the band that brought us stunning songs like Peaches,No more heroes and nice and sleazy. Heres some amazing YT vids for everyone to enjoy from the start a iconic performance at London, Battersea Park, 1978 Nice 'n' Sleazy ( For the boys) next up is Golden brown and to finalize No more heroes.Whats your views? Personally i think the band blew the knickers off the neighbors!

I love bands like this. You just can't pin 'em down to any brand of music. Even Wikipedia seems confused.

Nice. Looks like one of those nice young ladies got her kickers blown off, entirely by accident I'm sure.

Re: The Stranglers
The fav band of my early youth. Burnel was the reason as a 15 y/o I first picked up a bass, and I was at the Battersea Park gig, (still 15, and with the dancing girls
) shown here.
A much more complex sound than most bands at the time, and the early stuff 77-80 still sounds good to my ears today.
Those late 70's days....

I don't like a lot of their stuff, but I love Nice & Sleazy. What an awesome bass tone.
