Black plexi TRC

Post by ricosound »

I know this is pie in the sky. Does anyone have a black plexi TRC that they know is for sale/trade? I have never seen one, but have seen them discussed here. I have a black raised letter to include as a trade. I'm not even sure what years they came on. When was BT first introduced?

Black Plexi TRC's were discontinued long before BT was introduced. White guitars (with black pickguards and chrome metal parts) had them until about '75, possibly even '76 (white Plexi TRC's were phased out about a year earlier). My white '73 has one and IMHO it looks very nice.

if by BT your are referring to black trim/binding, my White '75 has BT and a black plexi TRC (there is an identical bass on ebay right now for reference).

The Walnut I have posted before (w/ the black/white pinstriped binding) dates from '76 and also features a black plexi TRC.

sorry, neither are for sale.

So it seems like they were available up untill about '76 depending on bass color. My '77 had a molded/raised letter version. In the early '70s the white TRC transitioned to molded, but the black ones due to lower volume would have lagged I guess. Anyway I'm doing a sort of reversed early bass, white with BT and thought the plexi TRC would look cool. It will be a tough and probably cost prohibitive thing, but I just wanted to satisfy my curiousity.
