James had his problems but he always seemed to care and preached the positive...Don't be a fool stay in school....

James Brown, The Temptations, Aretha et al, were the only exposure I had to people of another race as a pre teen (early-mid '60's).
I lived in a very "Leave It To Beaver" world.
All of my friends and I loved the music on the radio and TV no matter who made it.
I cannot recall a single negative, impolite or, in todays language, politically incorrect comment about any of these entertainers, or any person different than we.
I'd say James and others were ambassadors of some sort.
