Re: strings !!!!
Depends on the sound you're looking for...genuine Rick strings are a good starting point.

Re: strings !!!!
Welcome, Stan. If you do a search for strings you will find many opinions on this topic, as it has been widely discussed. I tried Pyramid Golds and liked them, but have always come back to the Rickenbacker compressed roundwound strings. I'm sure you'll also hear people rave about Thomastik-Infeld flats, and Curt Mangan makes a custom 12-string set for Pick Of The Ricks (http://www.pickofthericks.com) that I've heard good things about. I'd say they're all worth a try. No one can tell you what feels and sounds good to you. As far as price goes, $10-$15 is probably what you'll see for most roundwound sets. Flats tend to be a bit more, but they also last longer.
Re: strings !!!!
I use the T-I flats on my 350/12, very happy with them. I didn't know about the Pick-of the Ricks thing, so I ordered them custom from Just Strings. Shoot me a PM if you want to know the gauges.

Re: strings !!!!
thanks for the great advice on the strings for my 360\12v64 its funny all the guys on gear page say use only D'Addario strings
but they never state that they even own a RIC...the people on this site are very helpful, can't say how many times I would send Peter Emails asking for advice on the Rics that I was lookin for for dates made or pickup styles..like I said b4, this 12 string is all new to this ole Gibson man, I just like staring at the dam thing!!! one of if not the most eye catching guitars made...tks to all of the Ric Army....Stan

Welcome, Stan!
Re: strings !!!!
Welcome Stan. I use the Thomastik-Infeld flats on mine. Pick of the Ricks carries these in a set that is Rick specific. RIC stock strings are my other choice. Personally I would stay away from the Pyramid Golds due to their high tension especially with a 12 set.
You're in trouble now LOL.RAS has begun!

Welcome, Stan! I've been a Gibson owner since 1969, but a Rickenbacker owner only since 1998 ... and I have already made up for the time difference!

Re: strings !!!!
The cheapest RIC 12 strings sets I found were in sam ash, $9.99 per set, I believe they now cost more...
