Seeing that these have been available for about a couple years now, anyone have a favorite box from the Vox Cooltron line of effects ?
Anyone using them ?
I have the Big Ben Overdrive and Over The Top Boost and really like them. Real work horses with never a problem.

Vox / Cooltron effects .... opinions ?
Re: Vox / Cooltron effects .... opinions ?
I have both the Over the Top Boost and the Snake Charmer Compressor and I really like both of them, especially the Over the Top Boost. To me, that really gives a good vintage Vox tone through any amp and it really breaks up well, giving a good tube sound, even through an "unbreakable" solid state amp. I managed to pick up both of my pedals for just short of $100 apiece and to me, that was totally worth the investment and much more.

I had the Top Boost...... for about one rehearsal. Musician's Friend was kind enough to take it back. While it was certainly one of the best looking pedals I've ever owned, it took up a lot of real estate and failed to deliver the sort of mojo I was looking for.
-BUT-
It did a great Brian May emulation. Cool box, just not for me.

That is true...they aren't small pedals to be sure.longhouse wrote:I had the Top Boost...... for about one rehearsal. Musician's Friend was kind enough to take it back. $100 ea is certainly a great deal on any of the Cooltrons..and , right, they do take up alot of real estate on the pedal board.
