360 models are out

Post by jimk »

I just checked over at corporate. It looks like a whole bunch of 360/6 string models have been shipped. And I saw that Rhoads Music was one of the recipients. Can the 360/12s be far behind? (Oh be still, my heart!)

Fireglo. And from everything I've heard, the '08 shade is supposed to be gorgeous, and the full width inlays should be stunning. I've seen pix of the new inlays. I guess I'd better hunt up a good digital camera before she arrives, eh? Film would just be too slow, methinks.

P.S. You can see through the thin vaneer of whatever patience I have by the sig, which has recently been updated at the bottom. Better than whining a lot, don't you think?

Jim, I'm almost afraid to ask, but when did you order it?

I'm impressed - almost 1000 posts simply in anticipation of your first Rick!

May 9, 2007.

And there are people who've been waiting a lot longer than I have.

As I've said before, I've had this waiting thing happen to me before on a specially made instrument. So, I just pretend that Rickenbacker is just a one man shop where some little old time luthier makes just a few guitars at a time somewhere up in a remote area of the Rocky Mountains of Montana.

Jim,
I find your optomism inspiring and reassuring that there may still be hope for the human race. I think that most(if not all)of us on both sites hope you get your guitar soon, and that it far exceeds your expectations. Have a someone with a digital/video camera(or rent one) film you from the time you open the shipping carton untill you tune her up and play a song, or two. Don't be too concerned with fidelity, but get this event filmed and put on you tube with a link for all of us to check it out. I don't think that there is anyone here who wouldn't paypal a buck to see this if your only option was to hire someone.

There are a boatload of folks here who can tell you how, or even do this for you, if you don't know how. I think I speak for a good many people when I say I wish I could be there when you get it. Heck, might even win one of those funniest home video shows if you start dancing around the room in glee or something.

Anyways, we're all rooting for you, as well as the others who have had to wait a while to get their instruments. You just often make me smile with your enthusiasm and I thank you for it.

Hey Jim The new FG's are awesome - see the Pick of The Ricks website for a look at a beautiful 2008 360/6. I got a 2007 360/12AFG last year, and it is absolutely stunning. And it still smells good! Hoping that you get your new beauty soon! Bob

I took a look at site POTR a couple of nights ago. Yeah, they sure are purty. Caught myself thinking "Hope mine looks just like that."

I was in New York City over the weekend and someone was playing a new 360/6...the new fireglos are amazing in person, the red is very rich. It's like a completely different finish, very cool!

Well... upon further review, it looks like some FG's are trickling out, but still lots of MG's and JG's are showing up on the shipping lists. There's probably a motherlode of FG's getting ready to ship!

Howdy,

Slightly off-topic. Reading about all the 360/6 models being shipped to soon-to-be owners just reminds me how much I appreciate my '04 MG 360/6. It's effortless to play. I've made a few adjustments to the action and neck, which only enhances the enjoyment; it plays itself, seemingly.

Scotty: Whoever took that photo had their camera on stun. Simply gorgeous.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
