The Feelies

Post by rkbsound »

Here's a band from NJ that I really enjoyed listening to when I was in college -- and here's a Rick. They're a great band, and I wish they were available on iTunes! They enjoyed quite a following and were quite popular on college radio.

The fact that you like The Feelies and have a '66 335... it's weird, it's like we have some kind of psychic bond!

Just saw the 80's incarnation of The Feelies in Montclair NJ on NYE and tthe show was great! There are two new terrific songs !
I believe the only Rickenbacker ever owned by the group is Brenda's 4001.
The clip in this thread is Glenn Mercers' solo group, and I think thats' my converted JG 370 VP 8)

Cool stuff!

My cd never came, despite my efforts with Amazon....I knew the price was too good...

"Time for a Witness" is a terrific record as well. It is great to see that they have been back playing together again.

I remember they were the cover band playing at the high school reunion in the film Something Wild. They did a twisted version of Bowie's "Fame".

They played the 930 Club in DC this past weekend--great show, apparently, with five encores.

...don't know if the author meant a five-song encore set, or five actual encores...

5 actual encores. The group I'm in opened for them in Philly the night before and they had 3 I think! There were almost twice as many folks there in DC, so I guess that works out right!?
PS slamming version of She Said She Said ay?
PS: BTW For the record...that initial clip in the top post is Glenn's solo band, there are 3 Feelies members in it and then me and Bob. Bob plays in a band called Shrubs and sometimes with Patti Smith when she does poetry.

I'm having trouble finding information on shows. I'd love to try to catch one. Is there a 2009 schedule somewhere? Thanks! - Jeff.
