Lapsteel Disco Rock.....4003s/5 and a B6 Lapsteel

Post by mp_me »

"My Disgusting Side"
The bass is a JG 4003s/5.
I overdubbed the bassline one octive down.....bussed the original bassline to a bitcrush effect...and blended in the low octive...to try to achive a moogish synth sound.
The B6 Lapsteel is put through delay that is synched to the BPM of the song...and a tremolo effect that is slow for the drags up...and real fast for the drags down.
Our singer is bussed out to some nice reverb and delay, for a spacy etherial disco sound. She was recorded using an Audio Technica AT3035 for a close mic, and an MXL V67G at a distance of 4 or 5 feet.
The drums are 100% fake. Programmed on Ultrabeat.
This was all done using a Prosonus Firebox...Mac Book Pro....and Logic

Groovy stuff, Mark. I like the odd combination of slide & industrial sounds. Ingenius production on the bass - definitely sounds like a synth.
