Rickenbacker Knock Offs

Post by Darkhollow »

I recently was linked to a website from someone on a forum that has fraudulent rickenbacker style merchandise for sale.

The website is an ebay style website called ioffer.com.

The first auction I noticed was for what I am guessing are fake TRC nameplates

The second auction is for cheap Rickenbacker Guitar Knock offs from a company called Eximious.

Couldn't find any legal contact info for Rickenbacker on the website but I am aware that a lot of the people here have means to get whatever info to the right people.

"Coarse" is right, Scotty...

The TRC guy has been banned from Ebay, so I guess he took his garbage elsewhere.

Rickenbacker's legal eagles are at:

legal@rickenbacker.com

Go get 'em, Tiger!!!

Yeah I shot off an email to that addy. Not sure if they are interested in the guitar seller as those rick-offs are insanely ghetto.

The 2 liter soda bottle vase looks to be better quality than the guitar next to it.

+1 on the 2 liter vase. Does it get better than that? Glad it wasn't Rickensoda.

Then you will OWN it.

I've seen some heavily modified 4001s that resemble that Opatik - badass bridge, J-bass pickups, hack 'guard. Would they be in contravention of Opatik's intellectual property rights?
