Baby needs a new pair of shoes...

Post by brycycle »

Paul,

would the shoes from a 60's lapsteel be a drop-in replacement for the missing shoes on a '66 4001?

thanks-

I'll defer to the bass guys here. I have a '60 lapsteel horseshoe and it looks like no problem. I do know that there were a couple of horseshoe widths and the wider one (1 1/2") is the one you need. Perhaps you need to post this in the Bass section, Bryce. I'm sure you can get a better and more detailed answer there.

The narrower one, the 1 1/4" width is what is needed for that bass. The 1 1/2" width was from the much earlier lap steels.
