Inflation

Post by fatcat »

It seems that used Rics aren't the only desirable that has had price rises.3 recent eBay sales of 6G6 Bassman heads went above $1k.That makes me wonder if it's time to sell off mine.

Heck, even the silverfaced ones are up in price.

To my way of thinking, the early 1970s silver-faced Fender amplifiers, prior to the master volume models, are some of the best bargains out there. These models are quite easily modified to mid 1960s specs and are very affordable.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

...in fact, early silverface Princeton Reverbs are blackface amps under that shiny control panel.

Most amp models fall into that.Cosmetic changes at first, then the CBS "engineers" screwed with the circuits.
P.S. I checked the book which say the model AA 568 is when the trouble started.
