Rickenbacker Dressing Room

Post by red_rob »

I've happily wasted lots of time playing around on the Jazzmaster/Jaguar dressingroom tool (available on the offsetguitars website), trying out almost every conceivable configuration of finishes and hardware to my hearts content.

And I'm left wondering....why isn't there a Rickenbacker dressing room tool???

Unfortunately my brain is not clever enough to set something like this up - is anyone capable or even interested in doing something like this? I wouldn't have thought it was beyond the means of some of the incredibly talented people on this forum. I've got an adventurous refinishing idea in an early stage of development you see, and a tool like this would be invaluable in determining the right way to go.

Wouldn't it be cool to be able to do the below on a 381 say, in a matter of minutes??

As a sales/marketing tool? I don't think they need any help in that department at the moment! It is cool though, you're right.

Another good site is The Complete Telecaster...but you don't have to make just Teles!

I guess these are technically illegal because they use copyrighted designs without permission. Of course, with Fenders and Gibsons it's probably a moot point.

Good suggestion Jim, but the jazzmaster dressing room is an online tool where you can change all aspects of the guitars appearance with a simple click of the mouse. You can add or change pickups, vibrato units, headstock styles etc all in nanoseconds. It's a really fun tool.

Dan, you're probably right about the copyright thing. Unfortunately.

It sounds pretty simple. Just set up a spreadsheet or something similar with all possible combinations, and have each one link to a photo of that combo. The hard part would be taking all the photos and setting it up.

Let's see, 4 finishes x 20 models x 2 pickup config's x 2 for 6 or 12, we're up to 320 already, and barely scratched the surface!
