Cell phone pics...

What would be so special about this bass to warrant $115k?

I wouldn't give him $115 for it.

Alright. Let me change this around. Can anyone think of any bass that has sold for $100,000?

Did any of John Entwistle's basses sell for over $100k?

Yeah, but when he does the second auction for $80,000, someone's gonna snap it up.

(he needs to spend some of his earning on a camera with a sharp lens!!)

I don't believe so.... unless Frankenstein (the mix and match Fender) made it - which I doubt. Most of his collection went for less than twice standard market (ie non-celebrity) value, if memory serves, and that was some time ago, before the last "rush of blood" in the vintage guitar market.

Mike, I've only just seen this thread. The seller is from Queensland, "the Sunshine State". I think he's seen a little too much sunshine.

Save some cash and buy Chris Squire's piano instead.
