Toxik was a technical thrash band out of NYC and were one of the early pioneers of playing this sort of thrash, Watchtower being the first IMO. I just got the DVD yesterday of their 1989 Dymano Fest performance and notices the bassist playing a red w/bt 4003!
I met their bassist, Brian Bonini, at a grocery store about 15 or so years ago. I saw this tall long haired dude in front of me wearing a very worn Toxik shirt.
"Dude, nice shirt."
"You know Toxik?"
"Hell yeah, man. World Circus and Think This!"
"I'm the bassist."
"You're Brian Bonini?"
"You know my name?"
Apparently he had just moved to the area to teach bass at one of the local guitar shops and his girlfriend lived nearby. He was buying beer. Budweiser. Gross.
