It is fabulous.

NOT light reading I'm afraid. Highly detailed.

Hmm, I might have to get this. I am currently reading Grateful Dead Gear by Blair Jackson, which is a fabulous book. McIntosh "...for the love of music...", by Ken Kessler, is another book I am in the midst of reading, again, a great book about a fascinating audio company.

Bring a handcart with you. "Not light reading" has multiple meanings with this book!!

It's very technically oriented towards the recording hardware, not your typical "Fab" coffee table book. It is very well done, does include some spectacular photos and insights, and is packaged very creatively, using the old tape real storage box, etc..

Enjoy!

I have it.

The first half or so is very technical. Even though I have recording gear and am interested in it, I found the first half a little dry.

The 2nd half of the book they go song by song and discuss aspects of the recording. That part I love.

Very well put, Ken, and I agree. I did read every word; the second half of those words went a lot more quickly.

And, yes, it is one Heavy book.

Side note: Of course, the book covers The Beatles time at Trident Studios in 1968 and 1969. My family and I were there
back in May and, right in the control room, they have a copy of this book. :-)

It is simply one of, if not the best Beatles book of all time.
