Apple Records

Did you know? The first four singles were released by Apple in August 1968 (40 years ago). They included "Those Were The Days" - Mary Hopkins and "Hey Jude" - Beatles.

The other two were Thingumybob by the Black Dyke Mills Band, and Sour Milk Sea by Jackie Lomax.

Don´t you think that "Apple" is THE name for a record company? When I was a little child I always stared at this beautiful looking apple turning on the record player. I think the Apple label alone is one o the reasons why I never liked CDs and still buy everything on Vinyl, if possible, even though most labels do not look half as good as the green apple for the A-side and the apple cut in half for the B-side.

I have to agree with you on that, Markus. It was a great concept, and the labels look fantastic.
