recommend a good inexpensive sampler pedal
recommend a good inexpensive sampler pedal
i am wanting to purchase a pedal that does the hold/sample/repeat thing, without too many bells and whistles, and relativley cheap. anyone know of a good one,or have experience with? i am thinking of using it for solo bass work similar to the effects used on vocals for "black horse and the cherry tree'...

You mean a looping station? I really like my Jam Man...(make of that what you will, jokers...)
And, to paraphrase Bill Clinton, what exactly is "inexpensive"?

I read good things about the Akai Headrush E2.

thanks guys,i managed to get myself knocked off rickresource for several days (changing my email address),so was unable to respond until today. yes a looping station is what i am looking for,and for me,toys like this should be under $150. the simpler the layout the better,i sold a digitech bnx-3 pedal because i could just NOT deal with it,there were at least 50 settings that sounded the same, and i would rather play my bass than program ANYTHING. this is just for at-home noodlin',when i do get to play out with folks,i don't usually get called on for multi-tracked solo bass stuff....cheers,woody.

IMO, you get what you pay for. I think I paid around $250.00 for my Jam Man (would have to check my receipt file), but it has been remarkable in both its simplicity and capacity. I use it mostly for recording SOS vocals, then load the files into my Apple, and use Audacity to fine-tune things, re: tempo and pitch, editing, etc. Removable chip is a bonus, too.
Not much out there @ $150.00...
