My parents and I are off next Thursday to Lockhart, Texas. For the past ten years, my dad and his best friend put together a big cattle auction for PURE straight registered Butler Texas Longhorns. The first sale harks back to September 1998, when I was in the second grade, and I barely remember it. The past sale (last year) was probably the best one that we had, and my dad made well over $50k!
A friend of my dad's puts out a catalog, and needs paperwork from all the Breeders. Until last year, my dad would hand write the catalog's opening letter and the info for his cows, and send them to this editor. My dad knew I was well into the computer, and decided to have me type everything for him and email it to the editor. He found this very helpful, and as a reward for all my hard work, he bought me the 660/12 TP I currently have in my possesion.
He's nervous about this year's sale, though, but my mom and I are reassuring him, and he said if he did well, as a reward for my hard work getting the catalog together, he'd get me a Rickenbacker guitar and a new amp. I'm going for a 1998 PT and a VOX AC-30!
Next Tuesday, I'll be signing off, as I'm spending all day (after school, of course) Wednesday packing and getting ready. I will not have Internet access until Thursday when I return. I also won't have any guitar time until after I return, but I guess the week away will do wonders for my hand.
So, Tuesday night, I'll be giving the sign-off message. I can't wait til next week! I got an iPod full of songs, and I'm ready for action!
