Vox Question

Post by 1OUfan »

Has anyone tried one of the Vox mini-headphone practice amps> :?: I'm considering ordering one of the AC30 models. What type headphones would you suggest?
Thanks---

I have one of the Vox AC30 Amplugs. They're great to play around with. I've got a pair of Sony headphones I use with it.

I've had mine on order with Guitar center for a coouple of weeks and they have a huge backorder situation.
I can't wait to get it...I've read good things about them

I just received one of the Vox AC30 Amplugs yesterday as an early birthday gift. I really like it. It's fun to play through, and most convenient. Make sure that you plug the headphones into the "phones" jack, which is on the side, rather than into the more visible top side jack...the one marked "aux", which is for plugging one's MP3 player or something like that into for playing along with. :? Yes, I was guilty of this error. :D

I got mine yesterday...it sounds really good.
The only beef I have with it is if you want to play along with your ipod, there is not enough signal coming from the ipod to mix with the guitar volume.
So basically I wound up running the ipod through the mixer in my studio and used the headphone out of my mixer into the aux in on the AmPlug.
Kind of defeats the purpose of this thing...at least the reason I bought it.
I wanted a quick easy setup to play late at night without having to fire up everything in the studio.
But by itself, it has really great tones.
Bottom line is it is a really nice guitar headphone amp.
The 330 sounds great and the 360/12 sounds even better.

Paul:
I'm supposing that the input jack for the guitar is standard 1/4", but what size is the jack for the headphones---1/8"?
Thanks----

Correct, not that you need to worry about a guitar input, as there's a 1/4 jack protruding from the bottom end of the amp; it plugs direclty into the guitar.

I thought that the input was 1/4" but I just wanted to be certain as the photos and info I was looking at really didn't say specfically.

I probably should have asked this in the original post----are there any suggestions for the best type headset-----ear-buds, noise canceling etc. for use with the Vox headphone amp? Anyone?
