What is the rule? How long do you wait?

Post by octagon »

It kinda reminds me of this movie:

How long do you wait before you remove the "Made in America" sticker from a new Rick?

Personally,I prefer to leave them on.That's the money!

I can't say, I"ve never removed one.If one had been on my 370-12RM,bought new, it would still be there.

This got me wondering just when the stickers started being applied.

Buy an extra pickguard and keep the original intact with the label.

Take it off immediately. It's like leaving the tags on your clothes after you buy them.

I'm all about aesthetics, I can appreciate beautiful design. Throwing a little rectangular sticker on something beautiful totally ruins it. It's the same as people with Windows computers and cheap digital cameras leaving all those hideous stickers on. Except most of those aren't beautiful designs, but that's beside the point.

I peel it off and put it on the owners manual. If you leave it for a year or so then it can be alot of fun to remove.

I would remove it immediately and prolly stick it on the book. I don't like little tags and labels on stuff. Never wear logos either, figure they should pay me for advertising for 'em.

The "Made in USA" stickers are made in China.

That's what PW told me; it's the only part of a rick that isn't domestically made.

I kept the sticker on my mandolin for as long as I had it, to help resale value I suppose, but otherwise I take 'em right off.

A lot of Rick hardware is made in Germany, isn't it?

It's a sticker --- nothing more, nothing less. No biggie. No worries. Leave it on or peel it off. Whatever floats your boat. Just my dos centavos' worth. Peace, out.....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.
