Dear Rickenbacker friends,

Many of us expected the 75th anniversary bass model with the hope to see again all the goods, or all the best, that RIC can make.
The 75th model came as is, so I decided to collect the best from my humble knowledge and bring some new features to meet my personal expectation.
Let me introduce my private anniversary bass model (30 years with my Jetglo 4001 is good reason).
Here is The Harleybacker.










Maybe it will be an inspiration for somebody from the factory, if some forumities answer my simple question: How much are You willing to pay for similar looking bass from RIC factory with appropriate certificates?

Welcome to the forum, Zdenek. Your English is fine. Very nice 4001. I'd put vintage style control knobs on it, if it were mine. I like the headstock binding and painting inside the toaster pickup to match the finish. At this time they are too busy at RIC trying to reduce the backorder to even think about changes or additions to the model line-up. RIC has even had to put certain less frequently ordered models or on hiatus to help produce their most popular models in a more timely order.
Hopefully someday when they reduce the backorder, more options may become a possibility

There is a big gap between the shoes!

That's what happen's when they're bent I imagine......makes the space greater in between.

Bending the shoes does produce a bigger gap, just like the old, real shoes.

The bass is completed from original and non-original parts. The horseshoes and the alu base are taken from Rickenbacker vintage 60´ lap steel, the HS PU bobbin comes from 70´ Rickenbacker PU. The toaster is the modificated Rickenbacker late ´70 neck PU, where I grinded the polepieces and used the original toaster cover from RIC boutique.
BTW: under the chrome pickguard is hidden small, but powerful Kent Armstrong 3-band electronic,

with the balance. No volume knob! This is a rock bass

I put on the bass the ME XXXX jackplate, so it is a ´73
The reality is different, it is the hybrid, completed during 2008.

Thank You Joey. I´m looking for some vintage style control knobs. I have the black only, but I need the white. I didn´t found them yet Any advice is welcomed....
