Nice. She seems to know a bit about guitars.
NEVER let your better half in on the value of your guitars!

wow, it's the first "revenge girlfriend" auction I've ever seen where the GF actually KNOWS what she is selling- detailed photos and all the right info.
First off- never tell your girlfriend how much your stuff is worth (maybe...just maybe after marriage)
Second- keep her happy- at all costs. yeeesh!

OR, the NEW BOYFRIEND knows a lot about guitars but doesn't want to hassle with having the old botfriend's Start around.
Sell it for the new GF, make her some money = Good lovin. (iust a theory)
Good thing its not a RIC.

Boy,
Am I glad I got my guitars out of the house when I left my wife. I would have really missed having them.

I wonder then, does she legally have a right to sell it? She admits it's his guitar, but just says he owes her some money, not that he gave or sold it to her. If this sale was to pay off a debt that he owes her, why wasn't the guitar appraised and listed by him or a broker?
As the old saying goes,"if it's too good to be true, it is." A guitar in that kind of shape looks like the 3 players who owned it, didn't do much with it. It's too clean, and too original to have been played a whole lot since '66. I would also like to bring up that anyone who has that level of information, including all the proper pics, puts a very high reserve of a little below what the market value or collector value is. I just find too many things suspicious in this listing to believe that it's all on the level. What chord is that she's playing?
If it is legit, and everyone is cool with it, somebody could really get a great score there. What a shame to have to give up such a nice guitar, or to realize that your ex has sold it.
I've seen a few prize instruments be liquidated to spite or punish a spouse, and I just find it sickening. I don't know what her story is, but it takes 2 to tango, and it's not always the mans fault.

Huh? Really? That's not what my wife tells me!whojamfan wrote: it takes 2 to tango, and it's not always the mans fault.![]()
As for the ad, it may well be a unique advertising ploy. Getting someone to think they are getting a real good deal 'cause the GF is mad and selling it off cheap...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Not to mention, she's collecting her share of admirers...(see the Q & A section of the listing).

Revenge Guitar Sales are awesome!I got this Custom Shop strat at Music-Go-Round for $999.Apparently,it came from a guy going through a bitter divorce who was dumping his stuff. He had gotten it as an anniversary gift from his wife and when the guy at Music-Go-Round said they could only give him $500 for it he said "Fine,I don't want it".

Yep, come to think of it, could be a clever ruse. Guitar will probably sell for a mint.
